About Me

As a relational therapist it is important to provide some insight into who I am. I am a fat, white, non-binary, queer lesbian originally from a small town in Ohio. I was raised by Quakers who first introduced me to concepts of social justice and community care which continue to shape the lens I bring to my work and my life. I enjoy spending time with my wife and loved ones, including our two dogs. I enjoy caring for our ever growing plant collection, trying new foods, collecting fat art, and attending local drag and art shows.

My approach

I draw inspiration from transformative justice, decolonial practices, and liberation psychology. These approaches emphasize exploring the impacts of systemic oppression on our mental health and nervous systems. I apply a psychodynamic and relational framework, as well as Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy approaches when working with couples. Together we will engage with past experiences and their impact on your current relationships - with others and with yourself. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can offer insight into how we show up in other relationships. Through therapy, we can build a safe(r) space to shift relational patterns and challenge oppressive beliefs and behaviors.
